The Problem
More than 50 million Americans struggle with arthritis, facing challenges beyond pain relief. Aleve aimed to create a digital platform, Arthriving.com, to offer innovative solutions and smart tips that empower arthritis sufferers to live more comfortably and confidently.
The Solution
As part of my role at BBDO, I contributed to the design of Arthriving.com to highlight arthritis-friendly products and lifestyle tips. The user-centric site featured accessible navigation, larger clickable areas, and simple, intuitive layouts tailored to the needs of arthritis sufferers, enhancing usability and engagement.
Wireframes
I developed detailed wireframes to map out user flows, emphasizing ease of navigation and accessibility. The design focused on simplifying the navigation bar, enhancing button sizes, and optimizing page layouts.
The wireframes served as a blueprint to ensure a seamless, intuitive experience for users managing arthritis.
Working with Developers
Detailed annotations accompanied the wireframes to ensure smooth developer hand-off. We included specifications on accessibility requirements, such as font sizes, contrast ratios, and touch-friendly elements.
Throughout development, we conducted quality assurance checks to ensure design fidelity and functionality across all devices, refining elements based on feedback.
The Final Design
The final design was responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile, ensuring a consistent user experience. Email campaigns were integrated to drive engagement, featuring content previews and calls-to-action that guided users back to Arthriving.com, reinforcing Aleve’s supportive messaging.
Advertising
I designed banner ads and a video end tag to promote Arthriving.com, using bright, engaging visuals that highlighted arthritis-friendly products. These ads were strategically placed on platforms popular with the target demographic, driving traffic to the site and raising awareness of Aleve’s commitment to helping arthritis sufferers thrive.
Results
Arthriving.com earned enthusiastic feedback from stakeholders and was recognized in industry showcases like Best Ads on TV. User testing showed high satisfaction, with participants finding the site easy to use, and the campaign increased brand engagement, solidifying Aleve’s leadership in arthritis pain management.
